Why is an Online Business worth more than a Gold Mine?

My wife and I were fortunate enough to visit a gold mine in Africa. We found it to be more than just gold.  Deep down we went into “mother- earth”, more than a mile deep. We experienced first-hand where gold has been stored for millennia, how fabulous it looked, how thrilling it was, our hearts were beating in our chests.

DESIRE for GOLD

Many times in my life I asked “how can so many people around the world desire gold so eagerly with such intensity for so many years” until I saw the real secret with my own eyes.

This gold mine is in Johannesburg South Africa; down we went in a mine shaft which felt like a journey of a lifetime, deep into the belly of the earth. We walked through a narrow tunnel, we felt the high and humid temperature and we noticed the dimmed lights hanging on the side of the tunnel that portrays a scary movie.  Finally when we reached the rock-face where the gold was layered in its splendid beauty that was tucked away in solid rock, we stood in awe.

With our fingers we touched the rough rock-face surface, we admired the sight in the dim light and it brought smiles to our faces. We dreamt about what this gold can bring in our lives, the pleasure and the beauty it can offer people. What a gorgeous sight to see. Hidden for such a long time where no person has seen it before. Yes, it was a thrilling moment.

Rock face glitters

The glittering layers of gold embedded in hard rock, it’s so enticing to the mind. The real stuff, never been owned before, it belongs to mother earth, but it needs to be mined with careful planning, great skill and hard work. It was very overwhelming to think that there was over a mile of rock piled up above our heads, one gets the feeling of total insignificance. The mind quickly moves away from sensing such danger. You bring the mind back to it senses and you start to dream again when you see the layers of gold glittering in front of you. Our headlamps flashing left and right which created a shining reflection back to us. You get the urge to dig it out by hand, but realize that knowledge and skill has to be applied to bring it to the surface and only then can it be melted, purified, shaped and then admired and enjoyed.

Our tour leader told us that the mines are in operation 24 hours a day, it never stops and it shuts down only on Christmas day. He brought us back to the surface in the slow mineshaft elevator; he took us to the melting pots which are above ground. Hot flames melted the pieces of rock in the red hot oven; the heat could be felt from a distance. Skilled workers poured out the melting lava in rectangular block containers, the gold started to glitter again; it has been separated from the dirt. After the cooling down period, it was poured out for us to view and admire. Big square blocks of solid gold from deep down in the unknown world.

Fortunate to see beauty

How majestic it was, how fortunate to see such beauty and to experience the feeling of wealth that it can bring to so many when you show it to others – precious gold that was hidden for thousands of years. People enjoy that feeling of great wealth and beauty when you own a piece of such beauty. Yes, we had the privilege to see it deep underground in the belly of the earth and now it’s in a pure solid block, but it took skill and leadership to bring it up to this stage. More skill is required to take it to the next level for it to become even more usable.

Recently, I sat down and recalled that great experience we had. It came to mind that an online home-based business is a carbon copy of digging and finding gold. The whole earth where gold is stored is the equivalent of the “internet”. It is overwhelming and confusing as to where to search for the glittering gold that the internet can offer you know it’s there, but it’s hidden under lots of “internet dirt”.

The drive to search for it to strike it rich, the knowledge and skill that is needed to bring it to the surface, the refining process; all this takes special skill sets to bring it to reality. Yes, the leaders in the mines know it takes a step at a time to have the end result. The concentration on the essential things, the purification process, the overcoming of obstacles, the learning processes, the self-mastery, the action to be taken in order to obtain it, the team-work and co-operation that is needed to succeed while keeping the end result of success in mind.

All of those steps are necessary to get that feeling of glittering success that brings joy in one’s life knowing it will shine bright eventually. The feeling of owning the gold, to love it, to share the beauty with others, then they too will start to desire it, then they want it for themselves and they will show it to others. I thought to myself that is why so many people around the world desire gold so eagerly with such intensity for so many years. An online home based marketing business is a carbon copy of the gold mining process. It is duplicating it every step of the way. It requires searching for the true stuff, sifting out, purifying it and working on it so that it can work 24 hours a day nonstop around the world, just about the same as the gold mine.

The skill elevates the possibility

My wife and I have experienced this gold mine venture firsthand both with gold and with internet marketing. We have been successful in training many people around the world. We became leaders to others because we had hard knocks in life and we endured.  This leadership is now offered for people to achieve what they thought was impossible for themselves before. They get a much higher vision by setting higher goals and in many cases achieve far greater results than what they thought possible for themselves. The shining of the gold comes out in the dim light until the headlamp flashes on it, it starts to glitter again. A new mindset skill elevates the possibility to overcome, to win to achieve and to reach the goal.

This is fulfilling and it’s exciting, but it’s even more exciting for those who are getting trained. It’s a satisfying feeling to give and share new skills and we know it should be shared with many who are hungry for great leadership. Helping others always gives us the feeling of freedom and happiness. Self-investment is like searching for gold in the earth, when it’s found and one masters the skill of bringing it to the surface to melt it gives great joy.  That is when it stands solid in this unpredictable, dangerous and fast moving world.

As a family we travel a lot, it is exciting and enlightening and extremely educational. We have learnt a lot from the goldmine episode, it is far more than just digging for gold.

SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH KIDS.

Is it important?

How do you do it these days. Being a parent today is not for sissies. Being a parent is not easy, and not for the cowards either. I am a parent too and I know what it takes to be a parent. Our current generation is facing so much stress and pressure from all sides, more so to the young people. The big question is “how can we help our children?” Each day of the week, month and year that passes us by is precious towards our children.

I have a 16 yr old son and a daughter who will be entering the teen-years soon. Each time I look back and recall the years when the children were infant, then toddlers and so on . .  I get this nice warm feeling deep inside me, the bonding between parent and child by interacting with them.  Reading them a bedtime book, taking them for a walk and to the park, that is a big thing to a child that cannot be forgotten when they are grown up.

Remember, we as parents are the first teachers to our children and no one can replace that.  I remember the wonderful things my parents did to us when we were small it created beautiful memories to me. But boy, it seems just yesterday and I kind a miss it, time flies indeed.

As our children enter their teen years, this is a crucial part of their life. There are plateaus and valleys that they go through emotionally (we were there too at one point).

The hormonal changes affect them emotionally.

A few suggestions to have quality time with our kids:

1)    Communicating with them regularly. This does not mean a question and an answer session. I mean bonding with your child, finding out their inner thoughts, fears, worries, peer-pressures.  Get them to trust you. Give them respect and they will respect you back. Repeat the word “love in the family” many times.

Dads, take your son(s) on a fishing trip or go for a hike, etc. Do things together that will create a bonding between father & son. This applies to moms towards their daughter(s) as well. Go shopping with your daughter, talk intimate matters over a cup of coffee. Tell them to open up with you so you can help in whatever problems there are facing in life.

2)    Take them on a vacation somewhere they’ve never been. Nothing is more important than spending time together as a family. Not necessarily an expensive one, such as traveling overseas. One can do vacation time within another province or state.

3)    Go camping together as a family

Camping is a great experience for children. Cooking outdoor, bathing in the river or lake is something different that they will enjoy. They will learn how to rough it out and how to survive without the comfort of your home where everything is within your reach. Catch some fish in the water and grill it over the fire. In some countries there are two kinds of campsites, with electricity and without electricity. Try to choose the “ancient” one (ha, ha).

4)    Eating together regularly

It might sound “old fashioned” but eating together as a family is one way of strengthening the family unit.  Sharing food together and ideas across the dinner table strengthens the family relationship. Talking about the day, whether at school or at work keep us all informed of what is the latest development in those areas. Sad to say, that most families don’t eat together anymore because either one or both parents is/are not at home yet because of 8-5 job or Susan is in the music practice and John is in the Gym. It boils down to one thing, the pressures of life that most families find so difficult to be together.

If only we can cut down the hours of our daily work into half – instead 8 hours per day (as the traditional one) we will spend only 3 to 4 hours per day. That will really give us plenty of quality time to spend with our growing up children. The answer for this “lack of time spent with your family” is to have a home-based online business or Internet business where you can make money at home and where you can work around your own schedule.

This new technology can help you to work on your business anywhere around the world and that is the beauty of this type of business, it gives freedom of time and a better lifestyle. Relationship Building is not a science – it’s a must!!!

All human beings were born with the desire and the natural ability to meet people and build relationships with others. Family, friends or co-workers are all places where we normally have this fundamental desire and where we eventually learn how to build relationships.

Here are some guidelines on how to build relationships that will last a long time if not a life-time.

People who have the desire to be successful in family, finances or any other fields will focus on building strong relationships after which then they become elite networking masters.

These net-workers who mastered the art of building strong relationships in variable will do the following:

  1. a. Communicate in a very diplomatic way
  2. b. They become persuasive communicators
  3. c. Their leadership skills have develop to the extent that it is now admired
  4. d. And this is done while they keep stress under their control

A quote I want to point out here is this:

“Once this networking skill is mastered, these elite net-workers will continue to build quality networks based on trust and credibility and they are willing to connect other people together. These Elite net-workers always give and seldom take. In most cases, they are good listeners and find ways to help. It doesn’t matter whether they were the introvert or extrovert type of person before, both characteristics can be very successful with relationship building.”

Every individual should be able to think about or reflect on numerous examples of relationship building amongst friends, family and co-workers.

Seeing that we are all born with this ability to connect, some individuals will actively develop this skill even more than other people and use it to their advantage. If you haven’t utilized your inherent relationship-building skills yet, then it’s time to practice them in and around the world in which you operate.

Don’t stay in your shell

Daily, interact with people around you: – the bus driver, the cleaner, hotel clerk, convenience store, your own clients and company workers. This is a way to build a network and it will expand if you practise it daily.

It is natural to have a network of individuals that have been built up over time.

Ask yourself, how did I develop these relationships?

Many of these relationships have been built because of commonalities such as living in the same neighborhood, going to the same school, working at the same company or playing the same sports. Many of us have been building relationships that started by identifying common elements and then you built up on them over time.

This provided a great foundation by having something in common with another people or individuals. Relationships are built with other people who make us feel comfortable and then we spend time surrounding ourselves with these people. It is a great way to begin to grow your network.

Search for things that are Common to you.

By surrounding yourself with people who make you feel comfortable, you should also look for individuals sharing commonalities. A great way is to attend networking events that are already in your industry, hang out with these friends who have their friends and interact with them.

Keep an open mind and focus on converting some of these encounters into closer relationships. Over time these new relationships can become part of your network if they begin to trust you and get to know you.

This builds confidence, so that you can meet more people and build good and solid relationships. It was easy before and you have done it before, so continue to do it with new friends and co-workers. The more you interact with people, the more confident you will become.

Think of it this way, every time you talk with someone you practice to have a conversation with the next person. It is sometimes uncomfortable to practice relationship building at a large event, rather practice at a small gathering in your own community or at your company even at a family gathering.

It is very important first to seek to be friends with new contacts and then talk business later. You want to build comfort and trust so when you do discuss business it is smooth and easy.

To build a relationship this way is because people tend to do business with others who they consider a possible friend who they can trust. Remember it is important to connect with people on a much deeper level that goes well beyond just surface business.

Practice, yes, practice to talk to Strangers

If you are still not comfortable starting or to continue with a conversation with new people, then practice talking to people when you go to the grocery/clothing store, gym, or school. This activity will get you more comfortable with talking to complete strangers in most situations.

This is normal, you already have these conversations every day in a natural environment, so, now you need to be aware that they are happening and use it by strengthening your relationship-building skills. It is to practice conversational skills daily.

Never discount these discussions, because they could develop into excellent relationships. Take these times seriously because relationships are built in every situation over a period of time.

By asking insightful questions and listening techniques is a matter of practicing and reciting your “elevator pitch”. An easy way is to comment “That suit looks so good on you, what do you do for a living – then silence, listen and then answer with your own elevator speech”

It’s better to aim your conversational skills in a non-business environment. Yes, “practice makes perfect” is so true for relationship building. To talk is a born ability. Then leverage it to help you become more successful in business and in life.

You voice needs exercising. Professional athletes and musicians need to constantly practice before they can perform at the big game or a performance.

Remember people attend networking events to meet other people. Don’t ever feel embarrassed to go up to someone and start a conversation. It is quite possible that this other person also feels uncomfortable will be thankful that you started the questions. People like to tell their life stories.

Professional people claim that they invest in networking because they strongly believe in its impact on career advancement. Here is the result of how these people operate.

  • Habits: Elite individuals treat networking as lifestyle or a habit, and not as an “emergencies only” tool.
  • Skills: Elite individuals not only stay in touch with other people, but find ways to develop relationships and give them purpose. These people find ways to make relationships mutually beneficial.
  • Advancement in business: Elite net-workers are more likely to have the ability leverage their network than other professionals, relying less on job sites.
  • Networking Investment: Elite net-workers believe in the benefits of a strong network, they know that networking is time well spent. They schedule time to network, and regularly go to events that encourages meeting people. More than 20% of these elite net-workers reported that they spend two or more hours every week on networking activities, which means they proactively reach out to colleagues, they find answers to questions for a colleague and then they research future connections and make new connections as an ongoing process.

What Questions should you Ask Before You invest in an online Home Business

There are more scams on the internet than legitimate online home-based businesses – so it seems like.

I have been burnt five times; I have spent lots of money on my Credit Card and – you are right, I have lost it all. I said, never ever again. It took me a long time to even reconsider to look at the internet as a vehicle for an online marketing business to generate passive income. It happened when a person that I could associate with and trust told me he experienced the same incidences, but I should reconsider a system that he investigated thoroughly. The person who encouraged me was my physical trainer – a Doctor. He is a very balanced person with high moral standards.  He is a family man who is disciplined in moving forward in all aspects of his life mentally, physically, financially, and spiritually.

I heard the quote from a very successful entrepreneur: unless you make money while you sleep you will always have to exchange your time for money and will never get rich. How true it is I thought, it applies to me and my family who also have high values in life and would also would like to earn while sleeping. How wonderful that would be – a successful home-based business that can be operated from anywhere in the world where there is internet connection.

I read in Forbes magazine that close to Forty million people will be looking for a home-based business in the next 3 to 5 years. It will be a “dream-come-true” for single parents, families and the like, to have such a successful system in the comfort of your home.

I knew from long ago that new technology has created such opportunities and that an online business is no different than brick and mortar businesses. However, to find the time to search for a trust-able business can be time consuming, while there is still the doubt if you are on the right track and there are no trains approaching at high speed.

My Doctor’s friend assured me that he has done his due diligence and if I will follow his simple game plan, I’ll also find an online business that is the right fit for my wife and me.

He suggested that he will help me to investigate some critical issues and I need ask these questions:

(A) The marketplace now demands unique products that are in high demand, but what are they?.

The claims of a new supplement that will revolutionize the health of humans, this can simply be a copy of another health juice or vitamin. To my mind, there is an oversupply of these types of products.  Health is vital, but surely we have enough to choose from which have been on the market and stood the test of time in effectiveness. Yes, we will survive without another “reconditioned” juice that contains a new super-duper berry that is found only high up in the mountains.

It is not easy to find a unique product that is hard to copy, but the internet offers us a fairly new and unique way to make lots of money online and due to its uniqueness and it can be developed in such a way that it is hard to copy or it will be too expensive to replicate due to high-tech investments.

It is time consuming to investigate if there is a market demand for what I want to promote. Trial and error can also be costly. Ask me I have traveled that road.  If I can look at this product again in my mind, and ask myself for my own life and that of my family:

“Do I really want this product if it becomes available; and will this product benefit my family and others, PLUS can this product be turned into a business opportunity?”

What is the likely hood of the lifespan of the product – a gimmick or long-lasting?

(B) How well is the business plan structured to pay out the virtual partners?

For commission to be paid only the earnings should be high up front. If the plan pays commission and passive income (or residual income) then it is more attractive to consider.

The best is to find a company with a good balanced payment structure, one that pays out commission and residual.

It is very important when you are searching for a home-based business to take the payment plan in consideration.

A new home base business is normally started with the intention to supplement your existing income, with the goal of building up to a full-time income, enabling you to leave your current employment.

Unless you have a great deal of funds behind you to “carry you over”, you will need to make high upfront commissions because otherwise you will find it impossible to build momentum.

If the upfront commission is small, it’s very difficult to continue. You will run out of steam, and capital, before you reach your goals.

The best is to look for a company with products that sells for $1000 upwards. This will enable you to earn commissions of $500 every time you make a sale.  Another tip is to look for a plan that pays out at least 50% of the retail price upfront and one which also pays you a residual income.

The high upfront commissions will help you get up and running faster and you will stay in the game plus the residual commissions will help you to retire sooner.

If the compensation plan pays a high upfront commission only and nothing afterwords, might look attractive but you will burn out quickly, because you will never be able to reduce your pace, the responsibility will be on you to produce continually, causing breakdowns.

High residual income which you earn on the sales of your team is vital, because as you build your group, you will be able to scale down your own activities as your passive income grows.

(C) Another vital point is to check if the business have a proper marketing system?

This is where many companies fall short.  Even with the best product in the world together with the best compensation plan, if you don’t know how to promote your business then you’re not going to make any sales and you’re going stop fairly quickly.

So make sure that any company has a system that can easily be followed and that you can duplicate it.  Also check carefully if the marketing system fits your needs.  The days of conducting hotel meetings are getting old fashioned and it is getting expensive for potential customers to attend, plus working on your warm market is falling by the wayside.

The world is approaching the 1.4 billion mark of people who have access to the internet. The company to consider getting involved with must be very high on internet marketing, because it is very difficult to compete with other well established companies who have a top priority to market products online.

(D) Check who is behind the management of the company, where do they come from and what goals do they have?

You can easily spend two years building your brand in a new business, doing very well in sales, see your income grow and then you lose it overnight because the company owners disappeared with the profits.

Look for past experiences and if the management offer solid standing and stability.  Many countries have a Better Business Bureau and they can offer assistance in checking on management. How long have they been in this industry? What is their business education? What are they taking the company?

The management of the company should be viewed as your “virtual business partners”.

Do enough research to find out.

(E) Has the company spelled out where do they want to be in around the globe.

A company must have room to expand, if it is close to reaching full market penetration around the world, then the competition will become too fierce.

Any online marketer must offer its product to be shipped anywhere in the world? There are many nutritional products who suffer from complicated legalities in different regions and it may prevent you building a global business. (Electronic information or books) such as E-books as well as other online products are not normally subject to these restrictions and is more suitable for global online marketing.

(F) Does the company offer contributions back to the community?

Respectful companies must be involved in charity donations or programs to help others. Check if the company is doing something to benefit others now and in the future.

It is far nicer to give than to receive.

(G)Ask, how is the company’s training network and after service support?

Many companies lack in this aspect and yet it is an extremely important.

There are two vital systems to investigate:- can the system be duplicated and does it offer a training network, online or live.

The company that you want to get involved with must have office staff in place to contact

Is there someone other than your sponsor who you can ask some questions and obtain marketing help?

Is there a place you can go, such as a forum, where you can learn about the obstacles that others have faced in building their business and how they have overcome them? Check the community spirit in the company, with members helping other members – are they all in it together or is everyone digging its own hole?

With any new venture there will be hurdles. Never allow these hurdles to scare you because they are all part of the learning process. During this learning curve it is invaluable to have a group of people you can turn to and who will support you.

These are key questions to ask. There are many opportunities being offered online, but before you join any business opportunity check all these questions above. If you feel happy that it meets your needs with the answers to these questions then you have found the right company.

This will save you much of the emotional and financial heartaches, believe you me there are many people who suffer when setting out in a home-based business.

It is normal for a person to try out six to seven different business opportunities before finding the right one in any home business. By going through the answers above and investigate them, you will not waste time, effort and money. This will also eliminate deep frustration to you and everyone close to you.

Choose your new business by using the questions above and you will be in a better position to be able to make the right decision the first time and create the stunning foundation for your successful future.

Hello world – About Johannes Breyten-Bach

I am self-employed and operate as a Consultant (Advertising Executive) for the BC and Alberta Hotel Association magazines.

My back-ground started in S. Africa was “Advertising Cost Comparative Analysis” for a large Research organization. I achieved great heights in the computerization of this division and presented the achievement to 26 countries; I went around the world and visited many of these countries.  What a privilege it was.

My first after-school training was “Dale Carnegie Management Course” plus various other “self-help upgrading” courses.  I pushed myself to the limit.

My wife and two children live in one of the most sought after places in Canada. A little town on the ocean just south of Vancouver BC Canada.

Now we are running a successful online home base business – we  are aiming to become great Leaders in this field to help other achieving even greater heights.
